tie cuttingMark has worked in the corporate world for more than 20 years, holding positions from technician to manager in such diverse industries as avionics, communications, and banking. He has experienced success and failure, joy and disappointment, doubt and endless change. He has had great opportunities and many challenges, but he has also been downsized, displaced, laid off, outsourced, and just plain let go. Chances are he knows what you've been through.

In 2004, Mark and his family left the Phoenix area they had called home for many long, hot years and moved to North Carolina. The transition was not easy and didn't go they way they expected, but through it all the family has grown, not in numbers, but in perspective and outlook.

Since arriving in North Carolina, Mark has not been employed full-time but has done IT consulting, primarily as a project manager. The uncertainty of temporary employment resulted in Mark feeling the need to do something more than just work. He read the book 48 Days to the Work You Love by Dan Miller and began studying to discover his real calling. Wanting to pursue his passion to help others, Mark began teaching Financial Peace University and found a love for teaching others sound life principles as a financial and career coach.

In 2007, Mark decided to live out his calling to help others.  After a period of prayer and research, he launched Mark Burch Coaching in early 2008, where he leads as both owner and head coach.  Mark Burch Coaching provides a common sense approach to individuals and couples to achieve a debt-free existence (excluding mortgage) in 24-36 months with a consistent support system for 6 months after our initial meeting.  He also provides individualized services to individuals who find themselves in a career transition or career search by discovering their skills and abilities, values, dreams, strengths and passions, and creating a strategy to find a fulfilling career.

In addition to teaching Financial Peace University at his church, Mark began teaching 48 Days To The Work You Love seminars and his own Thrive Financial seminar.  He also speaks to groups and works with clients on both an individual and small group basis, and is teaching a basic financial principles class called Making Cents as an instructor at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College in Kannapolis, NC.

Mark has also been featured in news stories on Fox News Rising, local NBC affiliate WCNC, and has contributed to several columns in the Charlotte Observer. He is also a regular contributor to Examiner.com.

Mark lives happily outnumbered in Harrisburg, NC, with his wife of 20 years, two wonderful daughters, and two dogs, also females.

Mark clings to his life Scripture:

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11
